This wheel-thrown tea cup features Passion Flower over Purple Crystal. The intention behind adding Passion Flower was to introduce more gloss to the surface, as Purple Crystal is known for its soft matte texture. Instead, the Purple Crystal absorbed the Passion Flower entirely—resulting in striking crystal blooms that give the piece its own unique character.

With its rich tones and blooming crystal effects, this cup is especially appealing to lovers of purple and crystalline glazes.

The piece is part of Jennifer Esther Brown’s “Lavender Love” collection, created for the Lavender Festival. A fresh kiln unload has also brought forward a new group of lavender mugs and pots—these latest pieces are truly looking divine.
