October 5, 2025October 16, 2025 Textured Turquoise over Flux Blossom by Ruth Less Turquoise Small Tumbler by Ruth Less This beautiful small vessel by Ruth Less is made from white stoneware and finished with a serene, layered glaze combination – Textured Turquoise over Flux Blossom for a smooth, flowing blue finish. The exterior features 2 coats of Flux Blossom applied all the way to the bottom, creating a soft, glossy base that enhances the flowing character of the overlaying colors. Over this, 3 coats of Textured Turquoise were applied — the first coat from top to bottom, followed by two additional coats down to the middle. This technique creates a stunning depth of color and movement: gentle transitions from pale blue to seafoam, blending seamlessly into the creamy tones below. The inside is glazed with Oatmeal, offering a warm, neutral contrast to the cool exterior. Fired to Cone 6 in a community kiln, the piece glows with a calm, watery elegance, evoking the tranquil hues of a clear sky reflected on still water.
