Temmoku and Tourmaline Bud Vase by Pottery Adventures

Little Bud Vase by Pottery Adventures

A small but striking piece by Pottery Adventures, where AMACO Potter’s Choice glazes Temmoku and Tourmaline play their magic to create an earthy base and a glowing blue top.

The bottom two-thirds of the vase is coated with AMACO Temmoku, a rich, dark glaze that adds warmth and contrast. Over the top portion, AMACO Tourmaline is applied from the rim downward, creating a soft turquoise-blue tone that melts into the darker base. The combination of these two glazes creates a natural, weathered look—almost like stone touched by water and light.

To finish the piece, the rim is brushed with AMACO Saturation gold, applied five times to achieve a subtle metallic glow. This small detail adds elegance and draws the eye upward, making the vase perfect for a single flower stem, a small dried arrangement, or simply as a decorative accent on a shelf or table.

The blend of temmoku and tourmaline a calm, organic feel, while the compact size makes the vase versatile and easy to display. It’s a lovely example of thoughtful glaze layering and simple, functional pottery design.
