The decoration begins with 2–3 swoops of AMACO Honey Flux, giving the surface a glossy base that encourages the glazes to flow and blend in soft transitions. Over this, dots of AMACO Seaweed introduce fresh green accents that merge gently with the underlying tones. Three coats of AMACO Black Aventurine are then applied over the entire piece, forming a rich, dark backdrop that glimmers subtly and lets the lighter colors beneath cascade downward in graceful streaks. The result is so beautiful, it almost makes you doubt whether this mug is truly real — a harmonious blend of earthy greens, soft whites, and deep, starry black. Clay body: Nara porcelain 2/3x swoops of AMACO Honey Flux Dots of AMACO Seaweed AMACO Black Aventurine x3 over So, the white you see is just bisqued Nara porcelain, the greens are Seaweed, and that pinkish band in between is Honey Flux. That soft pink glow between the upper and lower Seaweed stripes isn’t a separate glaze at all — it’s simply the Honey Flux revealing its warmer side. Both the Seaweed and Honey Flux were applied directly onto the bare porcelain, and then the Black Aventurine was brushed over everything. During firing, the Honey Flux bloomed through the dark surface, shifting from creamy white to blush-pink where heat and glaze layering worked their magic, while the Seaweed kept its rich green, flowing accents. The result is that dreamy interplay of green, pink, and black that makes you want to keep turning the mug in your hands, just to watch the colors catch and change in the light.
