Inspired by coastal water, foam, shoreline texture, and layered blue-green transitions, each mug uses a different ocean combo glaze recipe to create its own unique surface effect. Together, the three pieces show how small changes in glaze placement and layering can produce very different ocean-inspired results. Made on Tucker’s mid smooth stone clay with speckles, these mugs combine rich blues, turquoise tones, sandy texture, and flowing white accents. The result is a collection of handmade pottery that feels calm, fresh, and full of coastal character. Ocean Combo Mug One The first ocean combo mug has a soft, flowing look with a strong turquoise rim and a layered transition into pale aqua and foamy white tones. The lower section remains light and sandy, giving the mug a shoreline effect that feels natural and balanced. Clay body: Tucker’s mid smooth stone (speckled) 3x Power Turquoise (Laguna) inside and a band on the outside rim 3x Norse Blue in the middle 3x Sea Salt at the bottom Dabbed on a thick layer of Light Flux where the glazes meet fired to cone 6 Ocean Combo Mug Two The second ocean combo mug has stronger contrast and more surface variation. The deep Sapphire band at the top gives the mug a dramatic ocean depth, while Winter Wood and Norse Blue create a textured lower section that suggests sea spray, rocky shoreline, or weathered coastal surfaces. Clay body: Tucker’s mid smooth stone (speckled) 3x Sapphire inside and a band on the outside rim 3x Winter Wood on 2/3 from the bottom, then 3x Norse Blue under the Sapphire band and overlapping with half of the Winter Wood Thick layer of Light Flux where the glazes meet fired to cone 6 Ocean Combo Mug Three The third ocean combo mug returns to a turquoise and blue palette, but with a slightly earthier lower section. The contrast between the bright upper band and the more grounded bottom creates a balanced design that feels both oceanic and handmade.
