Applied over <strong>Venus White clay<\/strong> and <strong>fired to Cone 6 in an electric kiln<\/strong>, the result is a dramatic, high-contrast surface with warm, glowing depth and beautiful lava-like movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The process starts with three coats of <strong>Obsidian<\/strong> as the base glaze. Over this, <strong>two thick coats of Deep Firebrick<\/strong> are brushed onto the top two-thirds of the cup, including the inside walls. Finally, <strong>two coats of Albany Slip Brown<\/strong> are applied on top of the Firebrick, both inside and out. This layering creates a cascade of rich reds, dark browns, and subtle black undertones, mimicking the look of molten rock or weathered bark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The interior pools into a dark, glossy black, while the exterior blends into fiery, earthy textures that break gently along the surface.
