Peacock technique – Expressive Glaze Application <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n


Inspired by intuitive, painterly techniques often seen in the work of artists like, this method uses simple brush patterns to create depth, movement, and glaze interaction<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Start with a base glaze<\/strong> (dipped or brushed evenly over the piece).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Use a brush to apply a second glaze in loose \u201cW\u201d patterns<\/strong> around the surface.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Add dots or dabs<\/strong> of a third glaze in scattered areas to create reactive blooms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Optionally, use \u201cS\u201d strokes<\/strong> or light crosshatching<\/strong> for extra movement and texture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Apply glazes heavier near the rim or shoulder<\/strong> to encourage natural downward flow.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Let dry completely, then fire to Cone 5\u20136<\/strong> (or as appropriate for your glaze).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
