These glaze combo samples by Juliette Vennix Davin<\/strong> beautifully demonstrate the delicate layering and texture possible with AMACO Cone 5\u20136 glazes<\/strong> on Laguna Bmix clay<\/strong>, fired to Cone 6 using a slow-cool schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tiles feature a soothing palette of soft turquoise blues, creamy whites, and subtle golden undertones<\/strong>. Each sample showcases a different surface texture – from smooth washes to raised patterns and carved motifs – revealing how the glazes pool and break over edges. The combination of gloss and matte transitions creates a natural, almost aquatic depth, reminiscent of sunlit water over pale sand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The blue rutile tones<\/strong> interact gracefully with the base glazes, producing varied highlights where the glaze thickens. These tests capture a serene, oceanic feel – cool yet luminous – and show excellent glaze flow control and layering technique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
