Light Magma (SW-405) is a special ceramic glaze made by Mayco.
This glaze makes a rough, sandy surface after firing – many people say it looks like a moonscape, with tiny craters and bumps.
If you apply the glaze more thickly, the moonscape texture becomes even stronger.

When fired at cone 6, it usually turns a warm, sandy tan color.
At cone 10, the color can shift toward cream or gray, and the texture may soften slightly, but it still keeps that moonscape look.

Because the surface is rough, Light Magma (SW-405) is best for decorative pieces, not for everyday dishes or cups.
