May 2, 2025July 19, 2025 AMACO Glazed Black Stoneware Beads by Alina Zozulya Black Stoneware Beads Each hefty black‑stoneware bead showcases Alina Zozula’s knack for pairing contrasting surfaces: every bead wears two AMACO glazes that mingle into intricate webs of color and speckling. The earthy yellows, mossy greens, and storm‑cloud blues break and pool against the dark clay, highlighting the rounded edges while leaving subtle hints of the body beneath. Fired to cone 6 on a specially designed high‑temperature rack, the beads came through with crisp rims and glassy highlights, unmarred by kiln‑shelf residue or sticking. Strung together, they feel like tiny landscape studies – each one a miniature experiment in glaze chemistry and heat‑work. Black stoneware clay in random combos of 2 AMACO Glazes used (just one painted heavy coat) Obsidian, Blue Rutile, Indigo float, Oatmeal, Ancient Jasper, Seaweed, Emerald Falls, Textured Turquise, Toasted sage Fired to Cone 6 Credit: Alina Zozulya Beads Combos AMACOAncient JasperBeadsBlack StonewareBlue RutileCone 6Emerald FallsIndigo floatOatmealObsidianSeaweedToasted Sage
