AMACO Albany Slip Brown and Snow Combo

Candle bowl by Kim Ann

This small candle bowl by Kim Ann is made from buff stoneware clay and features a glazing combination of AMACO Albany Slip Brown and Snow.

The Albany Slip Brown glaze was applied in three layers, giving the piece a rich, earthy brown tone with depth and warmth. It highlights the textured designs on the bowl’s exterior, bringing out intricate, botanical-like patterns with a natural, rustic charm.

The AMACO Snow glaze was applied once as a “good glob” along the rim. This white glaze melts down slightly into the Albany Slip Brown, creating a soft, buttery effect at the top that contrasts beautifully with the warm brown body. The combination produces a flowing, organic transition from light to dark, enhancing both the tactile and visual interest of the bowl.

The result is a warm, inviting, and visually dynamic glaze finish that perfectly complements the handcrafted texture of the piece
