AMACO Glazes Over Honey Flux

Rainbow Combo Mug by Lucie Martineau

This mug by Lucie Martineau brings together several AMACO glazes layered over Honey Flux, resulting in a surface with soft transitions and fluid movement.. The unique glaze transitions seamlessly from blues to yellows, purples, and pinks, enhancing its artistic charm. The matte base adds a natural contrast, while the sturdy handle ensures functionality. It’s a perfect blend of artistry and everyday practicality.

Here AMACO Honey Flux is brushed as the base glaze twice (approx. 2/3–3/4 height).
Other AMACO glazes are layered over it, allowing the flux to remain exposed and mobile through overlap and firing.

This piece is kept as a reference for observing how Honey Flux behaves under multiple glaze layers, particularly in areas of heavier overlap and brush-applied flux.

What stayed with me here is the sense of openness in the surface – as if the materials were given enough space to do their own work.

Unpredictable surface outcome; useful as a comparative reference rather than a repeatable setup.
