October 25, 2023December 17, 2025 Obsidian and Iron Lustre over Honey Flux by Terri Rogers Good Porcelain Mug by Terri Rogers Good Obsidian and Iron Lustre over Honey Flux came together beautifully in this porcelain mug made by Terri, and I can’t help but admire it every time I see it. She started with a base coat of Honey Flux that gave the porcelain such a soft, glossy glow. Then she brushed on a gentle wave of Iron Lustre, adding a warm, earthy shimmer that flowed so naturally. To bring more depth, she layered in a stripe of Obsidian, which melted downward in the most graceful way—like mist drifting across the horizon. What amazes me is how the glazes settled into the porcelain so perfectly, creating transitions that feel effortless yet intentional. The whole piece has that timeless quality—simple, elegant, and quietly sophisticated. And when she fired it to Cone 6 with a little extra hold, all the colors came together in harmony. It’s not just a mug—it’s Terri’s creativity shining through in porcelain.
