March 11, 2024January 1, 2026 Sand and Sea Combo Mug by Stefanie Montana Sand and Sea Combo This stunning handmade mug is an excellent example of the “Sand and Sea” (or coastal) glaze combination by German ceramic artist Stefanie Montana. Its multi-layered surface brings a coastal landscape to life. The bottom part is coated with MAYCO Sandstone glaze, creating warm, sandy tones with gentle speckles, just like a beach under your feet. Above it, a soft band of MAYCO Light Flux suggests the foamy white crest of waves. Rising toward the rim, layers of MAYCO Celadon Bloom, Turquoise, and Peacock, along with AMACO Celadon Sky, flow together into deep and light blues, perfectly echoing the ocean meeting the summer sky. All glazes, except for AMACO Celadon Sky, are produced by MAYCO, known for their vibrant, reliable colors and beautiful layering effects. Crafted from Sibelco WM clay and fired to cone 5, the mug has a glossy, smooth finish that feels wonderful to hold. Every sip evokes the calm, breezy mood of a summer day by the sea — peaceful, refreshing, and full of coastal charm.
