Iron Lustre over Bougainvillea

Stunning Combo Samples by Nelly Chamberlain and Amber Gomez

Iron Lustre over Bougainvillea creates a truly stunning bright combo on white stoneware. Spectrum Bougainvillea brings a lush, floral pink that feels warm and celebratory, while RHC softens and cools the palette with a misty, translucent blue. Where the two overlap, they melt into each other in gentle gradients—lavender edges, airy violets, and hints of rose drifting into sky tones.

The AMACO Iron Lustre adds the magic. It floats across the surface with a subtle metallic sheen, catching the light and creating depth without overpowering the color beneath. In places it darkens the blues; in others it outlines transitions with a smoky, iridescent glow. Fired to cone 5, the white stoneware body keeps everything crisp and luminous, allowing the colors to stay bright while giving the lustre room to shimmer.

Overall, it feels both festive and elegant—like holiday lights softened by twilight—rich in movement, layered in color, and irresistibly tactile.
